Can we claim Gift Aid earlier or go over the free allowance without subscribing?

You can still continue using Swiftaid without a subscription.

Your free Gift Aid processing allowance is up to £6,000 per tax year.

The £6,000 allowance is pro rata, so the amount available depends on when your charity starts in the tax year.

If you’d like to claim before 5 April, or if you go over your free Gift Aid allowance of up to £6,000 per tax year, you can request a claim at 5% + VAT of the Gift Aid amount submitted.

If you regularly claim above the free allowance, Plus reduces that fee to 2.5% + VAT (with a £25/month + VAT subscription, billed annually).

Submitting a claim before the end of the tax year:

  • Does not reduce your free Gift Aid allowance of up to £6,000 per tax year
  • Does not require a subscription
  • Can be used at any time during the tax year, as many times as you wish, including around the end of the tax year, to file any unclaimed Gift Aid that exceeds your free allowance

For many smaller charities, this remains more cost-effective than subscribing.
